This course includes basic instruction for entry level positions as a dental assistant. Topics covered include legal/ethical issues, infection control, cavity classification, dental materials and procedures, and basic radiological information. There are 90 hours of classroom time, 40 hours of clinical observation and an 8 hours CPR class. This is a fast-paced course so attendance is mandatory.
A Healthcare Provider CPR class is provided for participants.
Students are strongly encouraged to have personal healthcare insurance while participating in this class. Health insurance is not provided by LCSC. Certain immunizations are required before students are allowed to participate in the clinical settings. You are required to pass a background check.
Basic Computer skills and high speed internet access required.
