LC State's Workforce Training offers the first step to a career. By completing the 2-year Idaho required instruction course of study for MILLWRIGHT APPRENTICESHIP you will be well on your way.
***Millwright students can begin their program at any time after meeting with Phil Liggins, Program Coordinator***
The object of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive perspective of the skills and knowledge required to perform the duties of a Millwright. Millwrights, as a vocation, perform varied skill and knowledge based functions in the manufacturing environment. Production depends on the Millwrights' abilities to correctly identify potential problems; correctly diagnose potential and immediate problems; perform maintenance; repair or replace mechanisms; and perform a multitude of other duties. A Millwright who has both knowledge and skill enhances safety, production and industry reputation.
*Financial Assistance or loans may also be available for this course:
***Face Coverings - LC State requires all faculty, staff, students and campus visitors, at all its locations, to wear a face covering when inside buildings, and also outside when social distancing cannot be maintained. At this time, the CDC and local public health officials, do not recognize plastic face shields or plexiglas barriers as adequate substitutes for a cloth or disposable face covering. Though students and employees are expected to provide their own, face coverings will be provided to guests who do not have one and to students in the event they do not bring their own.***
